Summer Mountaineering Courses
Introduction
We offer a variety of mountaineering courses in Snowdonia, the Lake District, Peak District, Yorkshire and the highlands of Scotland. These are all bespoke so that you get out of them exactly what you want. A course can combine any of the activities listed below, as far as possible. These are just an idea of the things that a typical course might include.
The location for each course is flexible. It is based on your own plans and ambitions, or on our suggestions for how to get the best from the course in the weather conditions at the time. It is no surprise, however, that many of our rock climbing, scrambling and mountaineering courses will take place in the fantastic National Parks of Snowdonia, the Lake District, the Peak District, the Yorkshire Dales and in the highlands of Scotland.
Summer
In British mountains, ‘Summer’ conditions mean that there is no snow and ice and you don’t need any special winter equipment. However, there is certainly no guarantee of good weather or sunshine. Therefore, suitable weatherproof clothing is vital. But this also means that these activities can usually be done all year round, and not only in the summer calendar months.
Previous experience
You might be a complete novice wanting to learn the basics of rock climbing, or have some experience and want to move on to the next level. Or you may already be proficient but want to push yourself a little more knowing you are in safe hands. Whatever your background, then any of these activities can be pitched at a level that suits you.
