Home » Scrambling course – Lake District
If you come on a scrambling course in the Lake District you may be lucky enough to climb Cam Crag Ridge. This lies in the Lake District valley of Langstrath, which runs off Borrowdale. As you head south along Langstrath, you will see Cam Crag perched high up on your right hand side. This is the same area as the popular wild-swimming spot of Blackmoss Pot.
Cam Crag Ridge is unusual because it is graded Grade 1, 2 or 3. That’s right – it’s all 3 grades at the same time. This is because you can pick your own line and make it as hard or as easy as you like. I often use it as a Grade 1 introduction to scrambling and at other time use the Grade 3 options for teaching people to lead harder scrambles protected by ropes.
