Three Three Peaks walkers took the wrong route off the Ingleborough summit plateau and descended to Gaping Gill in thick cloud and ‘horizontal rain’, rather than the path to Horton in Ribblesdale. They were wet, cold and unable to complete their walk, having been walking for almost twelve hours. As CRO members responded, PhoneFind placed the walkers just North of Trow Gill, going on to Clapham Bottoms. They were met and driven down to CRO Base, in Clapham, where they were given a snack and hot drink as YAS paramedics checked them over.![]()
